Miguel Cervantes, a star from Broadway’s hit show Hamilton, announced the devastating news of his three-year-old daughter passing. It was on Sunday that Cervantes’ wife tweeted about their daughter Adelaide’s passing. Adelaide had a severe form of childhood epilepsy that first began when she was only 7 months old. She suffered seizures and spasms as an infinite and continued to fight until her passing. Her mother posted a picture of her daughter’s empty made up bed and stated that Adelaide passed peacefully in her arms.
The Cervantes brought and will continue to bring awareness to epilepsy. They’ve donated money plenty of times to the charity “My Shot at Epilepsy”. They also state that they will dearly miss their sweet daughter but will work their hardest to inform people about Infantile Spasms and epilepsy. Miguel’s friend and co-worker Lyn Manuel Miranda hasn’t created an official tweet himself, however, he has retweeted his friend’s postings about Adelaide’s passing and the link to donate money to “My Shot at Epilepsy” with big heart emojis. News like this is very heartbreaking to hear and I wish the best for the Cervantes during this difficult time.
